2. General Information on Data Processing
This privacy policy applies to all mobile applications (apps) developed and operated by Martin Appelmann. We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
3. Collected Data and Purpose of Processing
3.1 OneSignal (Push Notifications)
Our apps use OneSignal for sending push notifications. The following data is processed:
- Device ID and push token
- Operating system and device type
- App version
- Timestamp of last use
- Language and timezone settings
- IP address (temporary)
Purpose: Sending push notifications about important updates, messages or events in the app.
Legal basis: Consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You can deactivate push notifications at any time in the device settings.

3.2 Matomo (Analytics)
To improve our app services, we use Matomo, a privacy-friendly analytics software. The following data is collected:
- Anonymized IP address (last 2 bytes are removed)
- Date and time of use
- Accessed screens and functions
- Device type and operating system
- App version
- Approximate location (country/region based on IP)
- Interactions within the app
Purpose: Analysis of user behavior to improve app functionality and user experience.
Legal basis: Consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR or legitimate interest according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR to improve our service.
Anonymization: IP addresses are anonymized before processing. No user fingerprinting is used. Data is stored on our own servers in Germany.
Right to object: You can object to the analysis in the app settings.
3.3 Sentry (Error Tracking)
To detect and fix technical errors, we use Sentry. The following data is collected:
- Error messages and stack traces
- Device type, operating system and app version
- Anonymized IP address
- Timestamp of error
- App state at time of error
- Breadcrumbs (actions before error)
Purpose: Identification and fixing of technical problems and app crashes to improve app stability.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR to ensure technical functionality of our app.
Service provider: Functional Software, Inc. dba Sentry, 132 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA
Privacy: Personal data (e.g. username, email) is removed before transmission. Only technical error information is collected.

4. Permissions
Our app may request various device permissions:
- Internet access: For communication with our servers and services
- Push notifications: To receive notifications (optional)
- Storage: For caching data and media (depending on app)
- Camera/Photos: Only if app functionality requires it (optional)
All permissions are requested only when needed and can be revoked at any time in device settings.
5. Data Sharing
Your data is only shared with third parties to the following extent:
- To the mentioned service providers (OneSignal, Sentry) to fulfill the described purposes
- If legal obligations require it
- With your explicit consent
We do not sell your data to third parties and do not share it for advertising purposes.
6. Data Transfer to Third Countries
Some of our service providers (OneSignal, Sentry) are based in the USA. Data transfer is based on:
- Standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission
- Adequacy decisions (EU-US Data Privacy Framework)
- Your explicit consent
7. Storage Duration
We store your data only as long as necessary for the respective purposes:
- OneSignal: Until you deactivate push notifications or uninstall the app
- Matomo: Analytics data is anonymized or deleted after 12 months
- Sentry: Error reports are automatically deleted after 90 days
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Information (Art. 15 GDPR): Information about stored data
- Correction (Art. 16 GDPR): Correction of incorrect data
- Deletion (Art. 17 GDPR): Deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction (Art. 18 GDPR): Restriction of processing
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): Receipt of your data in structured format
- Objection (Art. 21 GDPR): Objection to processing
- Revocation (Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR): Revocation of given consents

9. Right to Object
You have the right to object to the processing of your data at any time. You can do this by:
- Deactivating the analysis function in the app settings
- Deactivating push notifications in device settings

10. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your data:
- Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
- Regular security updates
- Access restrictions and authentication
- Regular security reviews
11. Minors
Our apps are not specifically targeted at persons under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you find that we have inadvertently collected data from minors, please contact us immediately.
12. Changes to Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy to changed legal situation or changes to our services. In case of significant changes, you will be informed within the app.
